UNFINISHED HOUSE IN A VERY BEAUTIFUL VILLAGE NEAR ALBENA AND BALCHIK

The village is situated in North-East Bulgaria (Balchik Municipality, Dobrich District), 15km southwest of Balchik and 6-7km to the west of the Albena seaside resort. It spreads over the left bank of the Batova river.
Nearby, archeologists have discovered remains of an old Muslim tomb and a hostel for travellers. The tomb is well-preserved and believed to host a Turkish saint. The hostel dates back to the 16th c., when Sulleyman II ruled the Ottoman Empire.
A large part of the Baltata nature sanctuary (else called Batova Gora) is included within the boundaries of the villages adjacent lands. It hosts the most northern and best preserved longose (i.e. tropical-type) forest in Bulgaria.
