The village is situated in North-East Bulgaria (Balchik Municipality, Dobrich District), 15km southwest of Balchik and 6-7km to the west of the Albena seaside resort. It spreads over the left bank of the Batova river. Nearby the village, archeologists have discovered remains of an old Muslim tomb and a hostel for travellers. A large part of the Baltata nature reserve (else called Batova Gora) is included within the boundaries of the village�s adjacent lands. The reserve hosts the most northern and best preserved longose (i.e. tropical-type) forest in Bulgaria. There is a school, health centre and post office in the village.
